Services

Here is what I can help with. I have made records in hotel rooms and in studios that cost more than most houses. The work I care about most is helping someone make the thing they want to make, at whatever scale they are working at.

Every project starts as a conversation.

Audio / Sound / Music Production

I have a degree in music production and engineering, and I spent much of my early career making records, running my own production company in Los Angeles. That ear and that training are behind everything I do with sound.

I’m also a multi-instrumentalist. I sing, play guitar and bass, can program keys, drums and other instruments. I can be as involved in a project as you need, from hands-off project management help to building the whole thing with you from scratch.

I’m more interested in helping someone make something honest than I am in chasing big budgets. If you have a song, a show, a story, or a box of old tapes, I’d like to help you do something good with it.

Music Production

Mixing, mastering, song demos, and sound design. I love the opportunity to help produce albums from the beginning. Whether you’re a songwriter wanting a simple demo, or a band wanting a full album, I can help you get there. We’d tailor the project and the budget to your needs.

Podcast and Spoken Word

Episode editing, audio cleanup, full production.

I’m happy to work with people who are just starting out. Getting a podcast to sound good isn’t as hard as it seems, and sometimes all you need is a chat about your setup.

Live and Location Recording

I come to you. Concerts, recitals, rehearsals, speeches, ceremonies. Stereo capture or full multi-track production, depending on what you need.

Transfer and Restoration

Cassette, vinyl, reel-to-reel, photos and slides. These projects are often personal, and I treat them that way.

This is for you if you have something worth hearing/seeing and you need someone who will help it sound the way it deserves.

Video Production

I shoot, edit, and deliver video for local small organizations, businesses, and publications. Most of my work is single-operator. I plan the shoot, show up with the camera, capture what’s happening, and edit it into something clean and honest.

The audio gets the same attention as the picture. It makes a difference.

I like working with people who have a story worth telling and need technicalhelp telling it.

This is for you if you have something worth showing and you need someone who will be thoughtful about how it's captured and presented.

Photography

Event coverage, nature photography, and documentation photography. I tend toward the quiet, observational approach. Real moments, natural light, staying out of the way. Non-posed work usually.

This is for you if you want photography that feels like how things actually looked, and capture the feeling of the moment.

Livestream and Event AV

I handle the technical side of live events so you can focus on the event itself. Livestreaming a new skillset so I’m just building out my rig and offerings. Want to share a class with those who can’t attend? Want to livestream a concert from a forest? Sounds fun.

I think everyone should be able to share their work with an audience. If your budget is small, tell me. We’ll figure it out.

This is for you if you're running an event and want to stop worrying about whether the stream is working and sounding good.

Tools and Data

I spent fourteen years in software and data work. I built analytics infrastructure from scratch, wrote automation scripts, diagnosed network problems, and taught non-technical people how to use what I built.

If you’re a small organization or independent business with a data problem, need helpfinding the story in the data or are looking for custom software to solve problems, I can probably help.

I’m not trying to be your IT department. I’m the person you call when you need someone patient and clear-headed to come in, understand what you actually need, and build something that works without overcomplicating it. I’m not a consultant, I’m a partner.

This is for you if you have a technical problem that needs a human solution, and you'd rather work with someone who explains things clearly than someone who makes you feel like you should already know.
